What You'll Do
Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct therapy services to students in school settings
- Help students improve fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and classroom participation
- Document student progress and communicate outcomes with the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other members of the educational team
- Assist with adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and sensory strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with professional and agency standards
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Previous pediatric and/or school-based experience required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Passion for helping children reach their fullest potential
