Easterseals Joliet Region is seeking an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dedicated school-based therapy team. Working alongside licensed Occupational Therapists, educators, and families, you'll help students develop the fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills they need to thrive both in the classroom and in everyday life.

What You'll Do

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in school settings
  • Help students improve fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and classroom participation
  • Document student progress and communicate outcomes with the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other members of the educational team
  • Assist with adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and sensory strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with professional and agency standards

Qualifications

  • Current Illinois Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  • Previous pediatric and/or school-based experience required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Passion for helping children reach their fullest potential
